Framed or Frameless?
Whether your space is large or small, shower doors and shower enclosures permit light and a sense of spaciousness to enhance its overall look and feel. American Standard installs both framed and frameless doors and will work with you to design an enclosure that satisfies your aesthetic goals while keeping safety, longevity, and elegance in mind. Here is more information that will help you decide which type of shower door may be right for you.
- Framed doors. A framed glass door is the most common type of door used for shower and tub enclosures. Because it is strengthened by a metal frame, the door can be constructed using thinner glass than a frameless shower door. Choose from many metal finishes to accent the look of your bathroom.
- Frameless doors. The sleek, clean lines of frameless glass doors are increasingly popular because they open up the bathroom space and draw attention to the shower structure itself. A frameless enclosure is made up of 3/8″ to 1/2″ safety glass that is very strong and does not require heavy metal framing. Frameless shower doors are also easier to clean than framed doors because there is more smooth glass surface.
Finish the look of your new shower with American Standard’ wide selection of hardware – including hinges, push plates, handles and more – in a variety of durable finishes.
